Setting the scene:

While simple in format, this is still a chance to bring out the best China. Lovely Bone China Porcelain Tea Cups and Tea Pots are made for this kind of events.

Place Settings:

Set your table with a simple white or gingham red or blue tablecloth. Keep the settings simple with a side plate and teacup and saucer at each place. Traditional Blue and White patterned teacups look great for this. Ensure each guest setting also has a butter knife for slicing the scones and buttering them.
In the center of the table is where you display the scones on tiered plates. For variety, you can also add a few small sandwiches or cakes, but the main event is around the scones.
Fill bowls with generous amounts of cream, lemon curd, raspberry jam and apricot jams. Have all your prettiest silver teaspoons set out for use.
Have a small vase or vintage teacup filled with pretty fresh flowers.
