About This Typewriter
This Adler Favorit was manufactured in 1936, shortly after the model appeared in 1935. Its unusual thrust-action mechanism moves the type elements forward toward the platen along a metal guide plate.
The machine has a glossy black metal body, a QWERTY keyboard and a clearly preserved Adler emblem. Its compact construction allowed it to serve as either a portable machine or a typewriter for a small office.

The Adler Thrust-Action Design
Adler introduced the Favorit in 1935 as the successor to the Klein-Adler 2. It combined Adler’s established thrust-action system with a mechanism designed to produce a softer and quieter typing action.
This machine is an early Favorit Model 1. Adler introduced the revised Favorit 2 in 1938.
Condition When Sold
The glossy black body was in very good vintage condition. The Adler emblem, decals and name badges remained clear and readable.
The machine was cleaned and fully serviced while it was part of the former My Cup of Retro shop. It received a new platen. The carriage advanced smoothly, the keys responded correctly and the thrust-action mechanism worked as intended.
