The Olivetti Valentine

Olivetti introduced the Valentine in 1969. Designers Ettore Sottsass and Perry King gave the machine its red molded body, compact form and carrying shell.

The Valentine became closely associated with the design culture of the 1970s. Examples now appear in major museum collections, including the Museum of Modern Art in New York.

Condition When Sold

The keys and mechanical parts were in very good condition. A new ribbon had been installed.

The exterior had some superficial scratches caused by contact with the case. The left carriage end had a small dent and a minor chip in the paint. The original matching case was included.
